From 1976 to 1982 Dr. Lichtenstein proudly served in the military (IDF). During the last three years of his service, he was a
combat medic, and in 1982 war he was deployed in action. It was then that he decided to commit his future to the service of patients. That commitment, amalgamated in the battlefield over thirty years ago, continues to shape his current practice. He gladly accepts private insurance plans; but he is just as happy to see MediCal patients, and patient who have no insurance at all. Regardless of payment source, every patient receives the best and most respectful care.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Lichtenstein attended the UCLA biology program, studying dolphin communication. Sadly, Marineland of the Pacific was closed before he finished his research, so he received his Master and C.Phil. degrees in Herpetology. His research was in the rather esoteric area of mathematical modeling of foraging modes.
